Fury sent out this article about how the police had to shut down a 6 year old girl's lemonade stand because she didnt have a business permit.
I understand the police have to do their job when a formal complaint is called into them. The problem I have is that it was a frigging neighbor who filed the complaint.
What the hell? Did the girl's lemonade stand cut into the neighbor's profit margin??
What The Hell Is Wrong With People?! Part 2
This story notes that New York state government wants to put a tax on video games and junk food in an effort to fund anti-obesity programs. As far as I know, this doesnt deal with anything remotely closely medical in nature; thyroid, genetics, age, etc. This is more because too many people are sitting on their ass eating junk food and playing video games.
Do you really want to pay extra money for a government program that requires someone else is too damn lazy to exercise or eat properly?

Cynical Tyrant has a blog entry about her most recent weekend in which she did a cycling event. Along the way there was an accident in which a driver plowed thru a couple of riders. The riders where hurt, but fortunately, not seriously.
On the upside, the driver was arrested on felony charges.
Cyclists have the right to the road. Get over it. Learn to share the road, people.
